1-on-1 Meal Support Sessions

Meal support sessions help to fill the gap and provide an extra layer of practical support while you’re working with your dietitian.

Meal support sessions are for you if:

  • You could use help following through with the goals you set with your dietitian.

In sessions with your RD, you may come up with goals that stretch and challenge you. Let’s be honest, that can be intimidating! Whether it’s increasing your intake, trying a fear food, or anything in between, having support in real time can be so helpful to keep you moving forward.

  • You want in-the-moment feedback and a safe space to process in real time.

What can I add to make my meal satisfying? How do I know if I’ve served myself enough? What happens if I’m still hungry after I finish my food? What can it feel like to tune into hunger and fullness cues? If you’ve ever thought any of these things, meal support sessions can help!

  • You'd like to have a bit more support since stepping down from higher level of care.

The transition from PHP/IOP levels of care to the outpatient level of care can feel like a huge jump. The structure and support you had in the treatment center can be so helpful, but a bit less accessible in the “real world.” These meal support sessions help to bridge that gap.

  • You benefit from gentle reminders and encouragement.

Meal support sessions can be an opportunity to take the skills that you have worked to build with your RD and other support team members and put them into action. Maybe you could benefit from a reminder to notice your pacing; take some deep breaths; reframe judgments. We’re here to help!
